Universal’s Fresh New Space

Bethlehem, PA, September 9, 2021 – As Universal Institute continues to expand its footprint, we are pleased to announce the upcoming relocation of our Pennsylvania Clinical Rehabilitation Center to its new site at 3864 Adler Place in Bethlehem, PA.

In consideration of the growing need to expand our rehabilitation services, renovations to our newly acquired 24,000 square foot building began in late Spring of 2021, with anticipated completion just in time for the holidays. Through input from clients and staff, our fresh space was designed from scratch, bringing a very large wish list to reality. Moving into a bigger space means that we have more flexibility to meet a growing variety of our clients’ needs and interests.

We are exceptionally excited to present our new building and numerous programs that will offer an invigorating client experience,” said Executive Director of PA Operations Joanne L. Ward OTR/L. “We have been actively listening to our clients and staff over the years and believe we have created a beautiful new setting that enriches the ability for our clients to enjoy themselves and be successful! Our goal is to spotlight new ideas and to create an environment that is both inspiring and uplifting.”

These are a few of our favorite things:

  • Therapy gym equipped with state-of-the-art rehabilitation equipment
  • Expansive structured day program capacity
  • Large multi-purpose areas for enhanced social and recreational experiences
  • Art therapy studio which includes a kiln for ceramics
  • Large kitchen/dining area
  • Private therapy treatment rooms
  • Client-run general store/gift shop
  • Private bathrooms with walk-in showers
  • Enlarged medical department
  • Multi-sensory room “The Zen Den”
  • Ample space for meetings with families and service coordinators
  • Large windows providing natural lighting to all areas throughout program
  • Outside spaces where clients can gather, relax, and enjoy nature
  • Increased administrative office space

“Everything that we have done in our new building has been to enhance our clients’ abilities to engage in true sense of holistic mind, body, and spirit experiences,” said Ward.

Universal Institute is positioned well for continued growth as we evolve to meet the needs of our population served. As our building nears completion, we will continue to provide updates and share exciting news along the way.
